Donna Toon graduated with a Diploma in Hospitality Management in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1998. She set her sights on traveling with a desire to learn and experience the tastes and flavours of the world, to ensure she was delivering the best possible educated experience to her guests.
After a number of years managing restaurants in New Zealand, she ventured to the award winning Hayman Island in The Whitsundays of Australia, where her love of not only food and beverage flourished but also living the island life.
This lead to The Maldives where she held an integral role in the pre opening team of industry leader, Per Aquum Resorts and Spas. Along with her husband Scot they together were then appointed General Manager Couple of the bespoke luxury island Dhoni Mighili. This highly awarded property was host to very high profile guests seeking privacy and uber luxury.
Donna returned to her true love of food and beverage after starting a family with the role of Director of F&B at Paresa Resort in Thailand, where she worked closely with a large team delivering unique and authentic food and beverage experiences to her guests. Loved by the staff, Donna has a cheerful but professional management style and works extremely hard motivating and getting the best out of the team.
Design, concept and creativity are key aspects in her love of the industry and these elements all came together in Donna’s last project the inception and opening of Zazada Beach Club in Phuket.
