Neil A. Shorthouse’s hospitality career spans over 20 years, working with a variety of top luxury brands, including Soneva, Six Senses, Anantara Resorts, and Cheval Blanc Randheli by LVMH.
During his time at the Soneva Group as the Director of Human Resources, Neil led critical path preparation for pre-opening, HR support and guidance for Soneva’s wedding program Forever After, leadership training programs, and was president of the Maldives Association of HR Professionals, an independent forum for hotels and resorts.
As Six Senses’ Corporate Director of Human Resources, Hotels, Resorts & Clubs, Neil was responsible for assisting the Vice President Human Resources in all matters relating to Human Resources and Training for the company, in addition to providing support and guidance to Corporate Office team members, General Managers and HR and Training teams within the Resorts, Clubs and Spas.
As Director of Human Capital Development at Cheval Blanc Randheli by LVMH, Neil worked on pre-opening set-up, was the first director of Human Capital Development within Cheval Blanc, designed and built HCD policy and procedures based on LVMH standards, and acted as recruitment liaison with Yannick Alleano Groupe for F&B Operations and Guerlain for the spa retreat.
Adding to Neil’s expansive experience, his time with Anantara Resorts in the UAE and the Maldives encompassed a wide range of work in HR, including Cluster Director of Human Resources and Director of HR in a pre-opening role.
Neil’s work ethic is founded in the belief that a brand’s biggest assets are the teams that deliver and live the brand of a company each and every day.
