A Private Look at La Maison Guerlain

On a recent trip to Paris, Helen and I were invited to explore the gilded halls of renowned perfumery La Maison Guerlain for a private tour and inspection. Admittedly, I’m not overly knowledgeable about the perfume-making process, so the tour was quite enlightening.

Guerlain is one of the partners working with us on Maison Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives, where they are setting up a new Asian Spa brand on a completely different level.

La Maison Guerlain has one of the best and most personalized services, the Collection Privée, allowing you to create your own individual box of fragrances and products, beginning at €25,000. Your personal perfume is kept secret; no one besides the owner is given its formula and once a scent is taken, it disappears from the collection.

We also took a private tour of the Guerlain Spa, another tribute to innovation and customization in the luxury arena. While the interiors were quite beautiful, my own personal tastes tend to lean toward Asia’s spa decor, with the darker colors of treatment rooms lending more warmth to the experience.

In addition to these fascinating insider looks, we were also invited for a private tour of Guerlain’s new retail store concept on the Champs-Élysées. In keeping with their reputation for innovation, this store will change its interior design every three months, a very cool and unique idea in their industry.
