Magna Children at Risk: 2013 Field Report & Update

Thus far in 2013, 365Playground partner Magna Children at Risk has been busier than ever in the field, performing life saving tasks, particularly in South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Cambodia.

Most recently, the organization has accomplished the impressive job of helping vaccinate over 1,600 women and children in the region of Terekeka, South Sudan. This vaccination campaign took place over the course of only a few days, with 20 fieldworkers working at 4 immunization stations.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, the Magna team was in action in the DRC, examining the rate of malnutrition in the streets of Kinshasa — malnutrition is one of the main causes of child mortality. Around 1 million children under the age of 5 years are malnourished the DRC. MAGNA helps combat this deadly threat to children by running 12 nutrition centers for around 2,000 severely malnourished child patients.
