Phuket’s Newest Property – Point Yamu by COMO
An exciting new property has arrived in Phuket, Thailand. COMO Hotels and Resorts, the award-winning five-star hotel group based in Singapore, developed and manages Point Yamu on the Yamu peninsula of the world-famous island. Located at Phuket’s Cape Yamu on the east coast of the island, with views of Phang Nga Bay, Point Yamu has become the tenth member of COMO’s family of unique destinations.
Offering 106 rooms, which include 27 private villas, Point Yamu showcases stunning panoramic views of the Andaman Sea. The resort is the perfect base for guests exploring the dramatic limestone islands of Phang Nga Bay, as well as for those regional guests who need a rejuvenating break.
With a 100-metre swimming pool, a COMO Shambhala Retreat featuring 8 treatments rooms, a yoga studio and a private beach for wellness and relaxation, Point Yamu sees to guests’ every desire. For fine dining,Italian and Thai restaurant, “Glow” features COMO Shambhala’s healthy cuisine.
Point Yamu’s aesthetic appeal is due to Italian designer Paola Navone—the Milan-based talent who was named Designer of the Year (2000) by the German magazine Architektur & Wohnen and who was honored with the important International Design Award.
According to Harry Apostolides, Vice President of Business Development at COMO Hotels and Resorts, “This new COMO resort will be our second Thai property, after the Metropolitan in Bangkok. These two properties will, in concert, showcase both the vibrancy and serenity of Thailand. Phuket is one of the top tourist destinations in the region, and we have focused on its east coast — an area of outstanding natural beauty and great biodiversity. The location perfectly frames the COMO experience of service and cuisine, complemented by a wellness focus delivered by our award-winning COMO Shambhala Retreat.”
