Ch. Khurelbaatar’s work has been exhibited around the world, including the United Kingdom, France, United States, Japan and China.
Having studied painting at Repin Institute of Fine Art in St.Petersburg, Ch.Khurelbaatar works within the old traditional of academic conventions Silent and Solemnity, achieved by gentle brush strokes and soft tonal picture are characteristic features of his art.
His beloved topics are the landscapes, still-lives, shamans and Mongolian history.
Like all Mongolian artists, Ch.Khurelbaatar depicts nature as his main subject. In his landscapes Khurelbaatar emphasizes peace and avoids every detail which might disturb their silence. There are no any movements, moonlight nights and empty horizons, all somewhat mysterious and romantic. His landscapes are overwhelmed with simple charm of nature, a single horse or a ger hints at nomadic Mongolia.
